The journey at the 3rd Edition of the FEMMCO Football Championship has come to an end for HTT Academy. After a series of thrilling performances in Ifo, our boys bowed out in the quarter-final stage this week.
While the result on the scoreboard wasn’t what we hoped for, the tournament provided an invaluable platform for our young athletes to showcase their growth, discipline, and passion for the game.
Tournament Highlights
Our path to the quarter-finals was defined by teamwork and clinical finishing. One of the standout moments of the campaign was our dominant 3-1 victory over Ultimate FC, where the squad showed exactly why they are regarded as one of the rising forces in Lagos grassroots football. Goals from Ibe Samson and Ayeni Enoch in the group stages set the tone for a high-energy tournament.
The Quarter-Final Battle
The quarter-final clash was a tough test against a formidable opponent. Despite a spirited performance and tactical adjustments from the coaching staff, HTT Academy couldn’t find the clinical edge needed to advance to the semi-finals.
Football is a game of fine margins, and while the “Road to Victory” paused in the final eight, the lessons learned on the pitch at the NUD Playing Ground will serve as the foundation for our next chapter.

We came to Ifo to compete, and that is exactly what these players did. Reaching the quarter-finals in a tournament of this prestigeâcelebrating its 26th anniversaryâis no small feat. We are proud of the boys’ conduct and their commitment to the HTT badge.
Whatâs Next for HTT Academy?
The FEMMCO tournament was a vital part of our 2026 calendar, but the work doesn’t stop here. The squad will return to Lagos to begin intensive training sessions, focusing on the tactical areas identified during the championship.
